More and more agreement has been experienced when we talk about children. More often people take into good consideration what is a child’s perceptions in the decisions taken by the parents who are going through a divorce. This is because young adults experience themselves the divorce of their own parents.
In this study, the authors record 820 perceptions of college students who have experienced themselves the divorce of their parents.
The interviewees wanted to spend more time with their father while growing up, they believed that the best custody and placement were those that provided a fair attendance of both parents. The custody and placement they had when they were children generally had left little room for the father.
The interviewees reported that their fathers wanted more time to devote to them.
The major consequences of separation of their parents include the perceptions, attitudes and feelings that remain in these young people when they have to start their life and a family.
The need to consider the perceptions of children in the decisions of the courts is felt now; however the study has generally neglected this aspect.
An important aspect of the lives of these children is the management of everyday life with his parents.
Decisions about such management are usually taken in the early stages of separation and tend to be perpetuated throughout the age of the minor.
In most cases, these decisions are taken by others. Since the custody affects everyday life, these children can have a clear perception.
