Isolagen, the last border on the rejuvenation of the skin.
What collagen is?
Collagen is the base of the epidermic structure. It is principally produced by the fibroblasts, cells that are specifically delegated to this task.
The produced collagen creates an epidermic net of fibres that in the end gives support and compactness to the skin.
In this way it is extremely evident that the numeric reduction of this cells and the reduction of the production of the collagen, that inevitably it is verified by the time goes by, bring to the cutaneous aging that we have not pre established to face.
So far we try to improve the cutaneous aspect with the fillers, some filling substances, that give volume: before, the bovine collagen, then in the 70’s, the hyaluronic acid and, in the last few years, the hyaluronic acid, but with the add of a particular molecules that increase the duration in time.
We also learnt to give back to the skin those basis substances that it needs: vitamins, minerals, antioxidant substances to face the pollution, also hyaluronic biorevitalizing acid to revitalize and stimulate the production of collagen as much as possible.
All treatments tend to prevent and maintain what we do have in good health as long as possible.
But since few months, we have the possibility to give back to the skin the fibroblasts typical of each person, with all of their peculiarities. But this is not it, we will give back the fibroblasts of that particular time of life: it is called Isolagen.
What Isolagen is?
It is a new technique made up in Australia, United States and England.
The treatment starts with a little cutaneous sample. With a little local anaesthesia, a little lozenge of skin behind the ear is taken (absolutely invisible).
This little sample is sent in very short and codified time to the closer Isolagen lab, for Europe in London, England, with an appropriate carrier
Here the patient’s fibroblasts are cultivated and multiplied and after few weeks they resent 3 sterilized syringes having about 10 millions of fibroblasts each.
These cells, multiplied, are replaced in the patient in 3 following sessions and they will produce collagen as any other fibroblasts.
It is clear that the number of the multiplied and reimplanted fibroblasts is already winning by itself, but especially it will be winning the fact that the patient can dispose of young fibroblasts even many years after the first retroauricular sample.
In fact it is possible to stipulate agreement with the Isolagen lab that will provide to keep the frozen cells of the first sample and available any time.
In my opinion this is the most interesting aspect: the fibroblasts, after the menopause, produce the 30% less of collagene!
Indications:
Face and neck wrinkles, décolleté and also for hands.
It can be associated to other treatments.
Is it a Painful treatment?
The first biopsy is done upon local anaesthesia and in this way it is absolutely painless.
After 2 months the following implant is done, after a local anaesthesia, with a salve that is hold on the zone for the necessary time. The pain is really very modest and generally well tolerated.
In particular with sensitive zones is however possible an injective anaesthesia.
Results:
The results, talking about a revitalizing treatment, are not immediate even if it is possible to notice an immediate volumetric result.
The reimplanted fibroblasts will have to produce the collagene that we need to rebuild the epidermic structure.
So, they will be visible in the following weeks and they will continue to maintain themselves for years.
Then, the reimplanted fibroblasts answer to the internal laws of body, but possible hyper dosages or swelling will not occur.
The recalled sessions can be done also after several years.
The return of the working activity is immediate, without relevant signs.
With the reappearance of the wrinkles, it will be possible to do new treatments with own pleasure: the absolute truthfulness and the total compactness of the reimplanted cells do not carry problems.
Safety:
There are some passages that allow the safety of the patient’s identity.
·all the passages are identified through a 10 figures bar code.
·each passage is codified and controlled by the stuff.
·the final controls are both human and computerized.
·rejection’s risk is absent
·not animal or strange product.
Costs:
Costs are still quite high, even thought, regard the duration, the safety and the results, they are not so different from the treatment with the fillers, especially if the materials are the best and if they have to be repeated during the years (basically every6 months).
