A new substance for the treatment of localized adiposities and cellulite:
the phosphatidylcholine.
Dr. Redaelli Alessio mail@docredaelli.com
The treatment of the reduction of localized adiposities, such as paunch, double chin, hips, back and the typical areas of cellulite, such as the typical coulotte de cheval, seem having found in the phosphatidylcholine, a new medicine that allows the reduction in many people.
The phosphatidylcholine is a phospholipid that is able to reduce the volume of fat cells it gets in touch with. It is injected with the mesotherapy technique at the level of the areas that needs to be treated, but a little bit deeper. Very thin needles are used because they directly go to the subcutaneous.
Risks do not exist (except for the usual allergy).
In fact the phosphatidylcholine has been used till few years ago just for the care of hypercholesteremias and in the detoxication of patients treated with aggressive therapy, such as chemotherapy.
So, it has benefits on the whole body even in this direction.
The treatment requires the same length of time as for mesotherapy, it is absolutely done in ambulatory, and immediately after, the patient can do the same things he usually does, exactly as happened for the mesotherapy. In many patients the phosphatidylcholine provokes a sort of local inflammation and a bit of swelling. But these are effects that go away always right after and have scarce impact.
What is it "Phosphatidylcholine"?
it is one of the most abundant phospholipid in the human tissues, and it is the main constituent of cellular membranes.
It is a part of the composition of the lecithin together with the phosphatidynositol.
It is also used in cosmetic field for its capacity of tying water; it is a very interesting molecule such as carrier of other active principles, promoting the cutaneous penetration.
Beside, it is an emulsive of fats and so, it supports the dispersion as energy.
How does the treatment take place?
The patient is treated in the studio, and the pure phosphatidylcholine is injected in the zones previously decided.
Obviously laid down, we use thin needles, average of 30G of an appropriate length.
Two specular zones are treated one at the time, but sometime more than one according to personal demands.
Some authors say that few sessions are enough, average of 4-5 sessions, but in my experience the best results are obtained with ten sessions, even if the result is still variable from patient to patient and fewer sessions sometimes are ok.
And then, in my opinion, non responder patients, the ones who do not respond to the treatment, exist, even in a limited number.
The treatment is very quick, and in average fifteen minutes are enough to finish the session. After the application of an eventual lenitive lotion, the patient can leave the ambulatory and do immediately the things he is used to do.
Which ones are the best indications?
In my opinion, the best indications can be summed up in all adiposities.
So, paunch, hips, arms, double chin and bags under the eyes respond really well.
Wherever you can find fat.
But in literature the checking that confirms the positive results for cellulite and also for legs are more and more frequent.
It needs to be underlined that the first job available on phosphatidylcholine was about its application for eyes’ bags and it has been written by a Brazilian doctor (Patricia Guedes Rittes) who reported very interesting results.

According to some people, it can get to the point to substitute the operation of lipoaspiration!
In my opinion, it does not replace the surgical operation, but it is surely a helping treatment both for the maintenment of results and for the treatments of less important cases.
Can collateral effects occur?
In literature major collateral effects are not referred, and I personally never had particular problems.
The only problem that occurs with certain regularity, but not always, is this soft swelling and modest irritation of the treated zone that normally lasts about 1 or 2 days.
The treatment is absolutely not traumatic.
