Polynucleotides for the face: real results on three clinical cases

Polynucleotides are now among the most popular aesthetic medicine treatments for facial skin rejuvenation. But what exactly are they? In this article I show you three real cases, with before-and-after photographs taken 45 days after the end of the treatment cycle.

What are Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides (also known as PDRNs or PNs) are molecules of biological origin that can stimulate cell regeneration, improve deep hydration of the skin and promote collagen production. Unlike filler, they do not volumize: they act on the quality of the skin, making it firmer, brighter and more relaxed. They are particularly indicated for the most delicate areas of the face, such as the area around the eyes, where the skin is thin and often the first to show signs of aging.

How the treatment is performed
The treatment is performed with superficial micro-injections using very fine needles, in a technique called microponfi. It is a quick procedure – 15 to 20 minutes depending on the areas treated – and well tolerated. For best results, 4 sessions are typically performed, with a 2-week interval between each.

Case #1 – Periocular area
Treatment performed on the area around the eyes and eyebrow, with a duration of 15 minutes per session. At 45 days after the last session, a marked improvement in skin quality is observed, with reduction of superficial wrinkles and increased brightness in the area under the eye.

Case #2 – Periocular area
Second case treated exclusively on the periocular area. Photographic results at 45 days show firmer, more toned skin with a visible reduction in skin sagging under the eyes.

Case #3 – Periauricular area, earlobe and eyebrow
More articulated case, which involved less commonly treated areas such as the area around the ear and the earlobe. Again, results at 45 days after the last session show appreciable improvement in skin texture, evident both frontally and in profile.
