The vacations are now behind us for most of us. Wind, sun, and sometimes some overindulgence may have left some marks that are worth not underestimating. Others, on the other hand, have rightly rested, taken walks and taken the opportunity to eat well. They return rested and certainly fitter.
But everyone is addressed with the advice that I offer every year after returning from vacation, advice that after all is useful all year round!
And, as always, the first tips and all our attention, we will definitely have to put it for the skin and dermis, which throughout the summer has protected us from the insults of the environment. Having beautiful skin is possible thanks to countless treatments antiaging : revitalizations
These are not filler or corrective treatments in the classical term, but treatments that aim to recreate in the dermis the optimal conditions for repair and growth of cells and intercellular matrix.
1. Hyaluronic acid hidroreserve
The first treatment is hyaluronic acid, the one we hear about so often, but not in a long-lasting form (crosslinked as we say) but in a purer form that is useful for retaining water molecules.
In fact, these types of hyaluronic acids tend to retain a lot of water, many and many times more than their weight and volume.
This is the reason that causes that annoying swelling after hyaluronic acid injections, which goes away in a few hours or a day at most.
It is the water that binds to the hyaluronic acid molecules. Let me remind you that hyaluronic acid is the basic constituent of Glucosaminoglycans, which in turn are the basic constituents of intercellular substance. Therefore, one can understand the importance of hyaluronic acid as a hydrating cement!
In addition, the latest generation of hyaluronic acids of this type, also have a longer filler duration than their predecessors.
This means that for the first month you have a very good filler, filler effect.
The patient, upon leaving the office, no longer has wrinkles. After a month, the revitalizing effect takes over, which makes up for the disappearance of the filler effect.
But above all, the hydration is confirmed to be long-lasting and effective precisely at times of greatest dehydration stress, such as in the post-holiday period.
Is the injection painful?
The technique is simple, but it must be done rigorously: it involves depositing small microdroplets of product into the deep dermis. If a good filler effect is to be achieved, then it should be deposited in just the right amount as if it were any other filler.
If it is deposited too superficially, then it can give rather unsightly raised pimples, which are bound to disappear anyway.
What are the indications?
Wrinkles of the cheek, neck, hands, submammary folds, arms, knees and elbows, but also face neck and decolletage, when affected by elastosis, remain the areas of greatest interest.
The method is also very useful in all those cases in which better repair is needed. So after peels, even deep peels, and laser therapies.
2. Multivitamins and hyaluronic acid.
This is a revitalization done with a multivitamin cocktail made by a leading French company. There are many substances in it such as antioxidants, which are useful for detoxifying the tissue after summer stress, many vitamins, cytochromes, nucleic acids and amino acids.
All these substances and also hyaluronic acid are deposited in the deep dermis, in very abundant quantities. In this case, the pimple that occurs is not a problem because it is reabsorbed in a few hours and never gives long lasting problems.
Are the injections painful?
Local anesthesia using an anesthetic ointment is performed only in hypersensitive patients, but in fact the injection pain is really quite bearable. Injection anesthesia is never necessary.
The treatment is performed in a few minutes and the entire face, neck, and décolletage are usually treated.
How many sessions are needed?
As a rule, I personally recommend 3-4 sessions spaced about ten days apart at least twice a year, but there is no real protocol.
Many patients regularly do one session per month, others prefer to do one session before going on vacation and one as soon as they return.
However, NOT exposing yourself too much to the sun definitely remains a winning weapon in preventing skin aging.
3. Skin-selective amino acids
Interesting is a new revitalization based on pure freeze-dried amino acids dissolved at the time of injection in hyaluronic acid: the best basis for imposing a targeted reconstruction of the dermis and epidermis on the body.
Amino acid supplementation by mouth is also possible, allowing revitalization throughout the dermis and epidermis of the body.
All of these treatments are performed by your doctor, who in the end will be the only one who can truly decide which treatment is best for your skin.
In fact, for some people amino acids are more indicated, while for others hydroreserve treatment is a very useful solution.
Other general advice
Facial cleansing
Upon return it is always helpful to visit a good esthetician and assess the damage the sun has caused.
Always helpful to care for the skin with gentle scrubs that can be the beginning of gentle but effective care. As the days go by, the skin goes from tan to gray, and signs of exposure to heavy weathering appear, as sun wind and poor care can do.
Especially patients with skin spots and strong signs of photoaging can benefit from this daily care.
Contrary to what many believe, a gentle scrub promotes the permanence of the tan, even making it look better and have a warmer color. Instead, avoid, as I always preach to all my patients, self-tanners and all chemical agents, of which we never really know the individual reaction.
Hydration
Certainly I, like all aesthetic physicians, agree that hydration remains the cornerstone of a revitalization of sun-exposed skin and therefore particularly that of the face, neck and décolleté. All creams to be applied locally should have great moisturizing power, and in my opinion, those based on hyaluronic acid remain the best, provided they are prepared by a pharmacist who is an expert in masterful preparations and knows how to integrate the molecule well.
But the hands will also absolutely have to be cared for as much if not more than the face!
Moisturizing creams, targeted beauty treatments will make all the difference! The creams dedicated to one’s face, can be specially formulated by your aesthetic doctor and prepared by your pharmacist expert in galenic preparations: so creams with collagen or hyaluronic acid, or with argireline if superficial muscle hypermotility problems are superimposed, but also with a little kojic acid or hydroquinone that allows a very intense action on skin spots, reducing the formation of melanin at the base.
We may also add, as appropriate, retinol to cause skin desquamation that will accelerate bleaching of the spots.
Return to a healthy life
Food remains the most effective and important medicine available to us: so eat healthy, with vitamins and detoxifying substances, such as plenty of vegetables and fruit.
Recharge the skin with deep and abundant sleep, perhaps assisted by a moisturizing and anti-wrinkle mask. (Hyaluronic acid-based ones are excellent.) Abolishing alcohol, wine and hard liquor for a fortnight will help detoxify the body. Physical movement is also a cornerstone of healthy living, which accompanied by adequate hydration ensures a reduction in the speed of aging.
Prevention Notes
Finally, I want to remind you that the time of return from vacation is a great time to perform check-ups, in general for the whole body.
If it has been a long time since you have seen him or her, I therefore advise you to visit your primary care physician: you can ask for routine blood tests, a cardiological check-up if you are over 40 years old, a mammogram and a gynecological examination if it has been more than two years since you have had one.
I also advise between the ages of 50 and 60, even in the absence of any symptoms, to perform a colonoscopy to assess the presence of intestinal polyps. This examination should be performed especially by men, but women should also think about it.
