The name LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. The foundations of laser therapy were laid by Einstein at the beginning of the last century and then evolved throughout the century since the 1950s. Among the most effective lasers, the CO2 laser has always been the ablative laser par excellence, useful as an advanced scalpel and for skin rejuvenation.
A final evolution then came with the possibility of using dedicated scanners that allow for very uniform but, above all, very safe results.
What exactly characterizes fractional laser light? Basically, instead of vaporizing the entire superficial skin layer, I vaporize only certain points of the skin that can be spaced more or less apart. Basically, I can decide in advance how much skin to injure from a minimum up to almost completely. This makes it possible to be very precise and almost totally remove human error, of the physician I mean, who vaporizes an exaggerated skin layer, with possible complications of long healing.
The directions of greatest resonance remain linked to rejuvenation skin, of the area periocular and perioral and of the whole face and neck in general. As I always find myself saying, improving the radiance of the skin is equivalent to a remarkable rejuvenation that is not achieved by either fillers or Botulinum Toxin or even a facelift!
Not CO2 laser can remove small keratoses, pendulous fibroids, such as small selected spots of the epidermis in seconds . Finally, the laser beam represents a state-of-the-art scalpel with a perfect and very precise cut and a much faster and less irritated postoperative.
Lately it has also been possible to add radiofrequency technology to this technology, in the same handpiece, which allows for a lifting of the skinin the areas undergoing treatment.

I personally think that the mandibular border and the middle-lower third of the face are the areas that benefit most from this combined technology.
To say that all lasers are the same is obviously predictably wrong. There are excellent, safe and “gentle” lasers and less effective and dangerous lasers. In the clinics where I work we have the latest generation of lasers that allow for very good results with normally very fast healing times.
